The Erie Canal (CCBar)

CCBar and piano

A bluesy, jazz-inspired arrangement of the classic American Folk Song.

About this arrangement

Duration: 3 mins 20 secs.
Difficulty: Easy
Voicing: Cambiata 1 (G3 – F4), Cambiata 2 (F#3 – D4), Emerging Baritone (C3 – Bb3) and piano.

The classic folk song, most recently recorded by Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. (They’re awesome.)
Each call and response-based verse starts with one or two parts singing in unison (call) before the group sing in harmony.
The verse melody has a range of a fifth (G3 – D4), allowing both Cambiata parts to sing it at different moments in the piece.
The tune is shared between all three parts during the piece.
This arrangement works particularly well as a pair with Ian Crawford’s CCBar arrangement of Wonderwall (available from this site)
