Myn Lyking (SATB)

SATB unaccompanied

An atmospheric new setting of the traditional 15th Century text that brings choir and audience/congregation together as one.

About this arrangement

Duration: 2min 20 sec
Difficulty: Easy
Voicing:
Soprano (B3 – E5, some divisi), Alto (B3 – B4), Tenor (B2 – E4), Bass (B2 – C4)
Notes:
The carol begins with all voices singing an eight-bar ground in unison.
From bar 9 onwards, the choir parts gradually increase then decrease in complexity whilst the audience continues to sing the ground (they sing this 8 times in total).
Modal harmonies add richness, and a soprano countermelody in the penultimate refrain offers opportunities for solos.
